Write it down and make it plain
I am an advocate for many notebooks, sticky
pads and all kinds or pretty pens. Why? Its simple, I believe anything worth
achieving is worth writing down. I am aware of those people who like to live
day by day or those who take the year by quarters but allow me to introduce an
easier more effective way to achieve anything in life. WRITE IT DOWN. Most
times when I say that, people always ask “I don’t have the whole vision, what
should I write?” and that’s a great question. Point is, you don’t have to know
every little detail. You do not have to build it out all in one, the saying
“Rome wasn’t built in one day” is a true testament in life. If you can start,
make it a goal to build upon it as you go. Add a little more and take some off
as you see the vison unfold, but do not be unwise and not write it down. Just
start and allow your hard work, dedication and time create the rest.
Speak Life… Not Death!
Sounds easy, but probably not the easiest and
most common mistake we make. As an entrepreneur and an extreme realist, I can’t
help but to call a spade a spade. We typically say, “It is what it is” right?
Wrong, it is what YOU say it is. It is what you say it is, it is what you believe
it is. It’s not about what we can do and what we have but how we perceive and
speak about our stuff. Therefore, it is so important that we speak everything
we want to see in our life. It is imperative to believe what we speak even when
the situation doesn’t look like the vision.
Mentorship & Accountability
GET ONE! Yes, get an accountability partner and
be a mentor. Seek This Diligently! Its nothing like having someone pave the way
and you follow in their footsteps and take the necessary detours. Be a pioneer,
take roads less taken and adventure the unknown. Take the risk, do the business
deal and learn the lessons. BUT, don’t just sit and wait until the vison unfolds.
Resolution’s, goal making and check in are necessary in
life. It is so important to make it plain and write it down, it’s even more important
to speak life. Be an example and be coach-able. Ultimately, these things will
build you as a person and create character. Remember, the vision acts a tool
for guidance as the work is implemented in the journey!
